Destinee Love is a teaching artist in the Central Minnesota Area. Originating from Kansas City, MO, Destinee grew up with her paper and pencil ever close at hand. She kept a close eye on the worlds within and without her, knowing she could capture the most beautiful (or personal) through her art. The thread of forever being an artist remained within her.
She studied Art Education at Northwest Missouri State University, and has taught her own curriculum for 6-12 year-olds in Montrouis, Haiti. Destinee has received Teaching Artist training through the Central MN Arts Board. She has taken her experience working with senior citizens to develop her own business, Inspired Seniors, by which she has provided numerous artistic experiences for small groups. She continues to work with area seniors as a Senior’s Companion Caregiver and at A Home For The Day adult day program, where she plans and leads activities.
Destinee supports all forms of artistic expression, with some of her favorites being visual, written, musical, theatrical, and dance. She is proud to have contributed through set-creation for the Minnesota Dance Ensemble’s performances of Love Beyond the Grave and The Snow Maiden.
Destinee’s current creative endeavors cycle around painting, drawing, bouts of dancing, writing poetry, and impermanently always through cooking.
